Travel the World for Free: Be an Air Courier

air-courier1Excerpt from www.soyouwanna.com

An Air Courier is someone who travels without luggage to fill a seat a company has purchased in order to send goods or papers. So you simply take a seat that otherwise would be physically empty. Companies resell the tickets at massively discounted prices because they need a warm body to accompany their stuff and make sure it gets where it needs to go. It can also be cheaper for a company to sell the seat at a major discount than to send the stuff over via airmail. The benefits to the company are 1) the swift transportation of important items and 2) faster customs clearance than regular cargo.

The benefit to you is a cheap ticket, anywhere from 50% off or more. The drawback of being a courier is the possible lack of advance notice about your flight and traveling with only a carry-on bag, especially for longer trips. But it’s crazy cheap, especially for international flights.

Note that most courier travel companies require you to become their member for an annual fee. Some places to contact include:

* The International Association of Air Travel Couriers
* Worldwide Courier Association
* The Air Courier Directory
* Now Voyager Travel
* Global Courier Travel
* Courier Travel News

megabus.com for as little as $1

megabus_back1You’re probably saying, “for as little as $1?  You’ve got to be kidding?!”  No, I’m not.  I have done it so I know its real.  My Mom was actually the one to enlighten me about this deal.  She said my brother traveled from NYC to Boston for $1.  I said, “WHAT!”  So of course I had to go look it up.  And, Yep!, its real.  I actually purchased one for $1.  And can I tell you the buses are no Shing-Dig buses, they are NICE.

Here’s the deal, if you purchase your ticket way in advance, you can get a trip for as little as a $1.  It is no secret and it is no lie.  I’ve actually seen these limo buses parading in the City with the ad all over the bus.  And its also international.  Megabus is in the United Nation, Canada and the U.S.

In the U.S., Megabus goes to Toronto, Boston, Phili, N.Y. Albany, Buffalo, Rochester, Washington D.C., etc. Check out the site and you may just find a bus to your destination.

I recently found out that a couple went to Toronto for $50 round trip from NYC.  And that was the TOTAL for both, round trip.  So say you have to go to your brother’s graduation in May or June and you know the exact date, book your tickets now and you can get a ticket for that deal or if you can’t Megabus may still be lower than your regular carrier.

Enjoy your favorite music with free radio

www.pandora.com

Pandora is an internet radio that automatically recommends music based on your favorite song or artists you request to listen to.  It’s like having your own personalized radio; not to mention, it’s FREE.  It plays a stream of music similar to your current or previous selection.   According to Pandora you can “explore this vast trove of music to your heart’s [desire].”  You can create your own radio or a “new station” by dropping one of your preferences; favorite titles or names.  Then the Music Genome Project scans over 400 attributes (a list of attributes M.G.P. uses to classify music) with similar rhythm, vocal, and instrumental aptitude, and more.

Also, as of this year, July 11, Pandora’s mobile software can be found on the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch through the iTunes App Store.

Options

Pandora surveys your taste by asking for you feedback of whether you approve or disapprove of the song or title recommended.  You can respond by giving a Thumbs up (I like this) or Thumbs down (I don’t like this).

Watch out for these restrictions

· You cannot Rewind or Repeat
· You are only allowed six skips per hour (includes thumbs down response, although you can change the song by refreshing the player)
· The songs continue play whether or not you are listening to the station
